Free Summer Tech courses for Stockport residents. No Pressure, No Experience Needed

Have you ever thought about working in tech, but felt unsure where to start? Maybe you’ve been told you need a degree or years of experience. Maybe you’ve written it off as something “too technical” or just not for people like you.  MadLab is here to say: that’s not true - and this summer, you can find out for yourself.

MadLab’s “Future Ready: Learn to Code” programme is here, and it’s all about giving people aged 18–30 the chance to dip their toes into the world of tech.

Whether you’re unemployed, working in a job that doesn’t use your full potential, or just thinking about a career change, this is a low-pressure, beginner-friendly way to explore what coding is all about. No tech background? No problem. These short courses are designed especially for complete beginners. If you know how to use a computer and browse the internet, you’ve already got what you need to get started.

From building websites to trying your hand at Python or game development, these one and two day sessions will give you a hands-on taste of what it’s like to create with code. No jargon. No judgement. Just space to learn something new, meet others in the same boat, and maybe even spark a new direction in your life or career.

Courses take place in central Stockport and run during the day (10am - 3pm). They're free to attend, with just a small refundable booking fee to secure your place.
