MadLab is taking part in Salford's Creative July his year, with three sessions of our ever-popular Stop Motion Animation workshop on the 25th.
This workshop explores how you can use your digital skills to bring inanimate objects to life. Stop-motion involves taking a series of still images and then digitally stitching them together to make an animation. We will guide you through the process of creating your own animated masterpiece using tablets and Stop Motion Studio (a free app for animations on tablets), from designing and creating your characters to filming your story.
All tools and equipment are provided, and you’ll be sent your animation to keep at the end of the workshop! If you have any pre-made characters or props (e.g. play figures) that you would like to use, please feel free to bring them with you.
Each session takes 1.5 hours, and you can sign up for one of the three sessions – taking place at 10am, 12pm, or 2pm, at the Humphrey Booth Centre (Heath Avenue Salford M7 1NP) – on Eventbrite here:
The workshop is suitable for ages 7+. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult, although accompanying adults do not need to book a ticket. We have space for one accompanying adult per child.
